Children’s Ministry
The Children's ministries at Mountain View is committed to partnering with parents in the faith formation of their children in the Christian faith. We provide a safe, loving, and fun environment where children learn about God and His love for them.
Youth Ministry
The Mountain View Youth Group is a Christian-organized ministry for youth in grades sixth through twelfth grade. In this group, you will grow spiritually and have fun doing it! You will experience many fun trips such as: Resurrection, Spiritual Life Retreat, Dollywood, Kingsport's Aquatic Center, Bowling, lock-ins, swimming, fellowships, and mini-golf. In this group you will also be able to pay back your community in ways like: raking older people's yards, visiting the elderly, delivering firewood to people, making cards for people, washing cars for charities, handing out bottles of water to people, helping with other churches, helping with Vacation Bible School and helping with Music Camp. During your time in this youth group you will go through many different Bible studies to increase your spiritual growth.
Music Ministry
Our music ministry includes a chancel choir, praise team, handbell choirs, and our children's music ministry called, "Crossfire Kids!". We use a variety of contemporary and traditional music and teach that growth as a musician in our church fosters a deep and lasting spiritual connection to God.
Missions
"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Acts 20:35 (NIV)
Small Groups
At Mountain View, we have small groups for all ages from children and youth to adults and seniors. Most meet on Sunday mornings. Find your group and join!
United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Day School
Mountain View Methodist Church sponsors our preschool as a ministry of the church to provide a learning environment that will help preschool children grow. It is our goal to provide a loving, safe, happy and healthy environment for the children being served. By providing for the spiritual and early learning needs of each child in a structured, yet enjoyable manner, we hope to send him/her into life feeling confident with a true desire to learn.
Top 40
Top 40 is part of our Adult Ministries and provides christian fellowship and companionship to mainly seniors, anyone over 40 years old, or really anyone that would like to participate! Except for summer months, we have covered dish luncheons on the 4th Thursdays. All year long we take day trips and lunch trips. We recently had some of our members visit the holy land and they shared their adventures with us at one of our luncheons!
Women in the Word
We are a ministry committed to Biblically centered studies and activities that hope to result in women living lives which honor God and His Word. Bible studies are offered for adult women in the fall, winter and spring and an annual six-week Bible study is available for third to fifth grade girls. We have a group called Hearts and Hands that serves our homebound ladies with visits, cards, calls, and communion.
Our desire is that as women grow in knowledge and understanding of scripture and in their personal relationship with Christ, families, the church, and society will be strengthened by them. Women of all ages, seasons, and circumstances in life are invited to participate. Come to develop a love for God’s Word and a willingness to apply its truth to daily life. Enrich your relationship with Christ and other women. Participate in ministry opportunities in the church. For more information, visit the link to our website or contact LuJean Buckner.
